Actor Reacquires Childhood Home for His Daughter
Actor Joshua Jackson, known for his roles in various television series and films, has recently purchased back his childhood home, driven by the desire to create a memorable place for his daughter, Juno Rose Diana. The 46-year-old actor shares his four-year-old daughter with his ex-wife, actress Jodie Turner-Smith, 38.
During a conversation with his “Fatal Attraction” co-star, Sasha Alexander, in a recent podcast, Jackson revealed his motivation behind reacquiring the house. He stated, “I bought this house for my daughter,” emphasizing his excitement for Juno to experience growing up in the same environment he once did.
Jackson, who has been adjusting to life post-divorce, reflected on his aspirations to model a healthy relationship for his daughter. He expressed, “In all the dreams you have when you have a baby, the thing I wanted to model for my daughter was like, here’s two parents, here’s what a man and a woman can look like in a home, in a happy, healthy relationship.”
Since the divorce, Jackson has found a new perspective on fatherhood, admitting, “I never got to experience the love of a father. And I’m getting to experience it now. And that’s what this house is for.” He described Juno as his “greatest gift” and “north star,” underscoring his commitment to being the best father he can be.
Reflecting on his journey, Jackson noted, “I love being a dad and I love being her dad. I have failed often but I always wanted to be a good man and that’s not always an easy path and I have not always walked that path.” He added that fatherhood has simplified his decision-making process, stressing, “If it’s a bad decision, as a father, it’s just not a decision I’m going to make.”
Speaking to People magazine at a recent Walt Disney Company celebration, Jackson mentioned how staying active with his daughter helps him maintain vitality. He humorously remarked, “I think it’s chasing around a 4-year-old. I think that it keeps you young,” while acknowledging his graying hair.
Detailing his bonding activities with Juno, he shared, “We’re in a big arts and crafts phase right now, so that’s good. And yeah, I mean, go to the park, sit at home, do arts and crafts.” Jackson participated in the Emmys earlier, presenting the Governor’s Award to “Dawson's Creek‘s” executive producer.
