Actors Connected to Drug Kingpin in Kochi: Police Investigations Underway

The police have implicated actors Sreenath Bhasi and Prayaga Martin in connection with notorious criminal Omprakash, as part of their investigation into a recent drug bust in Kochi, India. The authorities have sought custody of Bhasi and Martin based on alleged links with Omprakash, the alleged mastermind behind the drug network. In response to the allegations, Martin posted a cryptic message on Instagram, seemingly mocking the accusations and detractors, by sharing an image bearing the phrase ‘Ha ha he he hu hu’.

The Malayalam film industry is embroiled in controversy following these allegations. This situation has provoked significant discussion, especially after the release of the Hema Committee report, which previously highlighted the challenges within the industry. According to police statements, Bhasi and Martin were part of a group of approximately twenty individuals who met Omprakash at a local hotel. Omprakash reportedly reserved three rooms in the establishment during a popular concert, where such gatherings allegedly took place.

Prayaga Martin, known for her work in Malayalam cinema, debuted as a child artist in the hit film ‘Sagar Alias Jacky‘. Her career spans appearances in other notable films like ‘Pisassu’, ‘Oru Murai Vanthu Paarthaya’, and ‘Kattappanayile Rithwik Roshan‘. She often garners attention for her adventurous fashion choices and colorful hairstyles. Her current predicament, however, marks a low point in her career, overshadowing her on-screen accomplishments.

The investigations by the Maradu police follow tips received about illicit drug activities conducted at various events in the city. Confidential sources revealed that illegal substances, including cocaine, were being imported and distributed at DJ parties organized within Kochi, intensifying concerns about drug abuse in cultural events.
