LOS ANGELES, March 22, 2025 — Actor Adam Devine shared his thoughts on the high-octane wrestling event AEW Revolution, declaring it a standout experience compared to WWE events. Attending the event ringside, Devine recounted the spectacle during a recent podcast interview.

“I didn’t know what an insane event this would be. Those guys throw on a real banger! I liked it more than the WWE events,” Devine stated, emphasizing his admiration for the raw energy reminiscent of WCW‘s late 90s flair. His remarks offer a glimpse into the growing rivalry within the world of professional wrestling.

At AEW Revolution, a series of intense matches highlighted the night, including a cage match that thrilled fans. Devine described the chaotic scene: “People were bleeding all over the place—real blood. It was crazy! They were pouring thumbtacks all over the ring.” He noted the spectacle of wrestlers flipping from the cage into the dangerous thumbtack-strewn ring.

Reflecting on the brutality, he recounted, “One wrestler was still picking thumbtacks out of himself backstage. ‘One is stuck in my heel. I can’t get it out,’ he said.” Devine’s narratives highlight the perilous and gritty nature of modern wrestling that AEW has embraced.

When asked about his newfound appreciation for the visceral elements of wrestling, Devine responded, “I didn’t think I would have a thirst for it, but now I do. It was awesome. It was crazy.” He specifically noted the match between Toni Storm and Mariah May as a notable highlight, referring to it as a “bloodbath.”

“The men in the cage match were attacking each other with a screwdriver. I thought, ‘How do you fake that? Oh, it’s rubber,'” he explained with evident enthusiasm. The atmosphere, he said, was electric, and the camaraderie among fans and wrestlers alike fostered a sense of community.

Devine also expressed his positive interactions with AEW owner Tony Khan, whom he met at the Super Bowl. “He’s this totally nice guy who owns AEW. We went out that night and partied. It was fun!” Devine’s personal anecdotes serve to humanize figures in the wrestling industry, showcasing their connections beyond the ring.

As AEW continues to carve its niche in the wrestling landscape, Devine’s endorsement adds to the buzz surrounding the promotion. For wrestling fans, AEW Revolution may cement its status as one of the most talked-about events in recent memory, particularly with its blend of thrilling matches and celebrity endorsements.
