The inaugural flight marks Air Canada’s fourth direct service to Italy, enhancing the airline’s presence in the European market. Mark Galardo, Executive Vice President & Chief Commercial Officer of Air Canada, expressed enthusiasm for the new service. “This new route not only connects two great cities but also strengthens ties between Canada and Italy,” Galardo said.
With up to 39 weekly flights scheduled to popular destinations in Italy, including Naples, Rome, Milan, and Venice, Air Canada aims to provide more travel options for customers. “We are proud to serve the Italian market since 2005 and remain committed to boosting tourism and connecting families,” Galardo added.
Canadian Ambassador to Italy, Elissa Golberg, celebrated the launch, stating it symbolizes a deeper partnership between the two countries. “This connection will enhance collaboration in business, education, culture, and more,” she remarked.
Italian Ambassador to Canada, H.E. Alessandro Cattaneo, also welcomed the new route. Notably, Naples is set to host the prestigious America’s Cup sailing competition in 2027, which will attract many Canadian visitors.
