Oc Air Show U.s. Navy Blue Angels

OCEAN CITY, Md. — The OC Air Show is set to take place on June 14 and 15, featuring a variety of aerial performances, including the U.S. Navy Blue Angels. The event will now start 30 minutes earlier on Saturday, commencing at 11:30 a.m., to accommodate potential thunderstorms expected later in the day.

This year marks the first appearance of the Blue Angels at the air show in seven years, alongside other performing teams such as the F-16 Viper Demo Team and the West Point Parachute Team. The show details indicate that the main aerial performances will run from noon to 3 p.m., with spectators encouraged to arrive early to help avoid heavy traffic.

Attendees can start arriving as early as 9 a.m., and local officials recommend using public transportation options like the Express Shuttle Service or the Ocean City Beach Bus to ease parking difficulties. The shuttle will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both days, departing from West Ocean City Park & Ride.

Officials have warned about heavy traffic delays and limited parking in the downtown area throughout the weekend. Multiple streets will be closed, and parking penalties will be increased in high-demand areas. Visitors are also advised against bringing certain items, such as barbecue grills and pets, to the event.

According to meteorologist Nancy Barnhardt, while rain is likely on Saturday, the chance of thunderstorms is highest between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. Sunday is expected to have lesser rain chances. Chris Dirato, the director of public relations for the air show, emphasized that although tickets are nonrefundable, organizers may offer discounted admission for future events if the show is canceled due to weather.

The OC Air Show has become a staple in Ocean City, attracting tens of thousands of visitors each year and providing an educational opportunity for families about military aviation. The event showcases various maneuvers performed by skilled pilots, including formations that bring the jets as close as two feet apart.

Tickets are available for VIP seating options, which provide premium views of the aerial performances. General admission to the show remains free and open to the public, making it accessible for all families in the area.
