Alec and Hilaria Baldwin Announce Reality Show Amid Controversy
Actor Alec Baldwin and his wife, Hilaria Baldwin, have revealed plans to star in a reality TV show centered around their large family on the US cable network TLC in 2025.
The couple shared the news of their upcoming show, titled The Baldwins, on their social media platforms which features their seven young children all under the age of 10.
The decision to embark on this reality TV venture has drawn criticism due to the ongoing legal issues Alec Baldwin is facing. He is set to stand trial in July for involuntary manslaughter following the tragic shooting incident on the set of the film Rust in 2021.
In the said shooting, cinematographer Halyna Hutchins lost her life and director Joel Souza was injured. Baldwin has denied responsibility, claiming he did not pull the trigger but merely drew back the gun’s hammer.
However, if found guilty, Alec Baldwin could potentially face up to 18 months in prison. The film’s armorer, Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, who loaded the gun involved in the incident, has already been sentenced to up to 18 months in prison for involuntary manslaughter.
Despite the backlash, the couple proceeded to announce their show, prompting public outrage online with many criticizing their decision given the circumstances surrounding Baldwin’s trial.
The show’s teaser features Alec and Hilaria Baldwin with their children, inviting viewers into their home to witness the highs and lows, the chaos, and the joys of their daily lives.
Alec Baldwin, known for his roles in 30 Rock as Jack Donaghy and his portrayal of Donald Trump on Saturday Night Live, and his wife Hilaria, a yoga instructor and entrepreneur, aim to showcase their family dynamics on The Baldwins, giving viewers a glimpse into their non-stop love, laughter, and drama.
TLC, the network behind the upcoming reality series, described it as a peek into Alec and Hilaria’s household with their growing brood, promising an intimate look at their family life like never before.
