Project Hail Mary Ryan Gosling Trailer 2026

LOS ANGELES, CA — Amazon MGM Studios has unveiled a new trailer for its upcoming sci-fi film, Project Hail Mary, set to hit theaters on March 20, 2026. The film, based on Andy Weir‘s bestselling novel, features Ryan Gosling as Ryland Grace, an amnesiac schoolteacher who finds himself on a mission in space.

The story follows Ryland as he awakens light years from Earth with no memory of his past. As he begins to piece together his identity, he uncovers a mission to solve a mystery threatening the sun’s survival. Gosling, recognized for his previous roles, is expected to bring depth to Ryland’s character.

In a statement, Weir explained that the inspiration for his novel derived from a larger series he had initially planned, titled Zhek. Although he abandoned that idea, elements transformed into Project Hail Mary, showcasing Weir’s talent for intertwining science with compelling narratives. The screenplay was penned by Drew Goddard, who previously adapted Weir’s acclaimed work, The Martian.

The film’s primary storyline revolves around Ryland, who not only strives for the survival of Earth but also encounters an unexpected ally, a new life form named Rocky. This unique friendship becomes crucial in their quest to save their respective worlds from destruction.

The first trailer released in June garnered significant attention, amassing over 400 million views worldwide in just one week. It effectively captures the essence of isolation and survival, reminiscent of The Martian. The latest snippet incorporates a soundtrack by Oasis, enhancing the film’s emotional depth.

Gosling is joined by a talented cast including Sandra Huller, Milana Vayntrub, and Ken Leung. As the film approaches its release date, fans are eager to see how closely it aligns with Weir’s beloved novel.

Project Hail Mary promises thrilling action and profound themes of cooperation, making it a highly anticipated addition to the 2026 film lineup.
