Mayfair Witches Season 2 New York Comic Con 2024

The much-anticipated second season of ‘Mayfair Witches,’ based on Anne Rice‘s ‘Lives of the Mayfair Witches’ novels, is set to premiere on January 5, 2025. The announcement was made by AMC on Thursday at the New York Comic Con event, where exclusive first-look images from the upcoming episodes were also unveiled.

Alexandra Daddario returns to the lead role of Rowan Mayfair. This season, the storyline follows Mayfair’s struggle to comprehend the nature of Lasher, the demon she inadvertently gave birth to, exploring whether he is more monster than human. Attempting to harness his power to fulfill her role as a healer, she faces tragedy that forces her to prioritize the safety of her family.

The series also features performances by Ben Feldman, Tongayi Chirisa, and Harry Hamlin, among others. Ben Feldman plays Sam 'Lark' Larkin, while Tongayi Chirisa takes on the role of Ciprien Grieve, and Harry Hamlin appears as Cortland Mayfair.

‘Mayfair Witches’ is executive produced by Mark Johnson, Esta Spalding, Tom Williams, Michelle Ashford, Christopher Rice, and the late Anne Rice. The series is produced by AMC Studios. Speaking at the event, Alexandra Daddario highlighted the responsibility of adapting a revered book series. “I’ve been part of book adaptations and I’m well aware, as an avid reader myself, fans have a deep love of the story and characters and want it to be true to the books,” she mentioned in a previous interview.

Fans of Anne Rice’s works are eagerly anticipating the return of the show alongside its sister series ‘Interview With The Vampire.’ The creators promise to stay true to the essence of Rice’s beloved characters while exploring new dimensions within the television adaptation.
