Dark Winds Season 4 Teaser Trailer

LOS ANGELES, Calif. — AMC and AMC+ have released a first-look teaser for Season 4 of their thriller series, “Dark Winds,” which is set to return on February 15, 2026. This new season will feature eight hour-long episodes, continuing the story of Lt. Joe Leaphorn, played by Zahn McClarnon.

Based on the novels in the “Leaphorn & Chee” series and adapted by Graham Roland, “Dark Winds” takes viewers back to the 1970s, focusing on the Navajo Tribal Police as they confront mysterious and violent crimes on their lands. McClarnon stars as Leaphorn and will also make his directorial debut this season.

The plot of Season 4 centers around the disturbing search for a missing Navajo girl. This case pushes Leaphorn, along with colleagues Jim Chee, portrayed by Kiowa Gordon, and Bernadette Manuelito, played by Jessica Matten, outside the boundaries of the Navajo Nation. They venture into the complicated and dangerous environment of 1970s Los Angeles, where time is of the essence as they strive to rescue the girl from a killer linked to organized crime.

The upcoming season will also introduce several new cast members, such as Franka Potente as Irene Vaggan, Isabel DeRoy-Olson as Billie Tsosie, and Chaske Spencer as Sonny. Additionally, veteran actor A. Martinez will reprise his role as Gordo Sena, the Acting Chief of the Scarborough Police Department.

John Wirth will serve as the showrunner, with a team of executive producers that includes Martin, Roland, Wirth, McClarnon, Chris Eyre, Tina Elmo, Jim Chory, Thomas Brady, Max Hurwitz, Vince Gerardis, and Anne Hillerman.

The teaser clip reveals a haunted Leaphorn reflecting on the harsh realities of his job. “I had this badge for four years before I saw my first murder,” he states. The scene builds anticipation for the dark and intense challenges that lie ahead for Leaphorn and his team.
