American entrepreneur, Tony Klor, the founder of Catoff Gaming, recently shared his experiences of being scammed multiple times during his stay in Bengaluru, India. Klor, who has been in the city for the past five months building his team, revealed some shocking incidents that he encountered as a foreigner in the country.

One of the incidents Klor narrated was when a bus driver stole his luggage only to ‘find’ it later and demand a fee of ₹1000 for its return. This initial encounter left Klor wary of the scams he might come across in India.

Klor also detailed a more elaborate scam he fell victim to, where he was lured into a fake wedding scam. A man in Bengaluru’s Cubbon Park invited him to a wedding and then took him to Taj Bangalore, ordering expensive dishes and cocktails, racking up a hefty bill which Klor ended up paying.

Despite these challenges, Klor commended the intellectual community in Bengaluru, praising the city for its sophisticated and brilliant people. He highlighted that the intellectual capital in Bangalore is unparalleled, creating a conducive environment for innovation and growth.
