Andrew Garfield and Dr. Kate Tomas Split Confirmed
Andrew Garfield, renowned actor known for his role in “The Amazing Spider-Man,” and Dr. Kate Tomas, have officially parted ways. The announcement of their breakup was confirmed by Tomas herself through a comment on her Instagram account. A follower had inquired about her relationship status with Garfield, to which Tomas clarified, “We broke up months ago, but I’m sure he will be happy to know that he is loved.” The comment has since been deleted.
Speculation about their relationship initially began in March 2024, when the pair was first seen holding hands during an outing in Malibu, California. The sightings included a double date with singer Phoebe Bridgers and comedian Bo Burnham, further fueling rumors.
Throughout their relationship, Tomas, a spiritual mentor known for working with A-list celebrities, often faced public scrutiny. In a candid conversation with ‘The Independent‘ in July, Tomas expressed frustration over the media focus on her relationship with Garfield. “It’s frustrating that no matter how accomplished a woman is, it’s always more interesting if they are in a relationship with a man,” she stated.
She further addressed the challenges of being under the media spotlight, criticizing the sexist nature of public attention and how it often leads to negative commentary on a woman’s appearance and career choices. Tomas, who holds a doctorate in theology from the University of Oxford, disclosed that such scrutiny was a significant hurdle she faced while dating Garfield.
Prior to their split, Andrew Garfield had been in a relationship with model Alyssa Miller between 2021 and 2022. He also famously dated his “The Amazing Spider-Man” co-star Emma Stone for four years until their breakup in 2015.
Garfield has been notably private about his personal life. In a recent interview with a media outlet, he reiterated his stance on maintaining privacy, stating, “I have never, and I won’t ever, speak about or confirm or deny anything about my personal life with anyone, ever.”
