Angelina Jolie‘s legal team has alleged in a recent court motion that her ex-husband Brad Pitt was physically abusive towards her before a 2016 plane incident that led to their divorce.

Filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court, the court documents claim that Pitt had a history of physical abuse towards Jolie and their children. The lawyers state that occurrences began prior to a well-known plane trip from France to Los Angeles in September 2016, where Pitt’s alleged abuse extended to the children, prompting Jolie to leave.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt had purchased the 1,300-acre Château Miraval estate in Provence in 2008 and partnered with the Perrin family to produce Miraval’s well-known rosé wine. After their divorce, Jolie sold her stake in 2021, sparking ongoing legal disputes over ownership.

In their court filings, Jolie has alleged that Pitt physically assaulted one of their children aboard a private jet in 2016. The claims include incidents where Pitt choked a child and struck another, fuelling further legal battles between the former couple.

Pitt vehemently denied the allegations made by Jolie’s legal team regarding the 2016 plane incident. While investigations were conducted, Pitt was not charged in connection with the abuse claims.

Recent filings by Jolie’s team further allege that Pitt attempted to silence her with a non-disclosure agreement, adding another layer to the legal and emotional complexities of their ongoing dispute.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, who share six children named Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Vivienne, and Knox, began dating in 2004, married in 2014, and parted ways in 2016, marking the start of a tumultuous legal battle that continues to unfold.
