Anker Recalls Over One Million Power Banks Due to Fire Risks

Pittsburg, KS – Anker Innovations is recalling more than one million power banks because of fire and burn hazards linked to overheating lithium-ion batteries. This recall, announced by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) on June 12, 2025, affects the A1263 model.
The CPSC reported that Anker received 19 reports of fires and explosions related to the power banks, resulting in minor injuries and significant property damage estimated at over $60,700. Consumers are warned about the potential risk and are urged to stop using the devices immediately.
To facilitate the recall, Anker is offering free replacements for affected customers. Consumers who own the A1263 power banks should reach out to Anker Innovations for instructions on how to receive a replacement.
The potentially hazardous power banks were sold online between 2016 and 2022. CPSC emphasizes the importance of addressing this issue to prevent any further incidents.
This comes as a reminder for consumers to remain vigilant about product recalls and safety issues associated with electronics.
