On November 10, 2024, a group of anti-Trump protesters gathered outside the Heritage Foundation in Washington, D.C., highlighting the ongoing controversy surrounding the think tank’s initiatives and its close alignment with former President Donald Trump.

The Heritage Foundation, a prominent American conservative think tank founded in 1973, has been at the center of political discourse due to its involvement in Project 2025, also known as the 2025 Presidential Transition Project. This initiative aims to provide a personnel database and ideological framework for the 2024 Republican presidential nominee, with a focus on consolidating presidential control over the executive branch to achieve conservative policy goals.

Project 2025 has drawn significant attention and criticism, particularly for its association with former Trump administration officials and its inclusion of organizations identified as hate or extremist groups by the Southern Poverty Law Center. The project’s 920-page document, *Mandate*, outlines four main aims: restoring the family as the centerpiece of American life, dismantling the administrative state, defending the nation’s sovereignty and borders, and securing individual rights to live freely.

The Heritage Foundation’s president, Kevin Roberts, has been a key figure in promoting Project 2025, describing it as part of a “second American Revolution” that he hopes will remain bloodless. However, his comments and the project’s ties to Trump have sparked controversy, with Trump later attempting to distance himself from the initiative despite evidence of his involvement.

The protest outside the Heritage Foundation reflects the broader public debate and opposition to the think tank’s policies and its influence on conservative politics in the United States.
