Facundo Buonanotte, the on-loan midfielder, finds himself in a precarious situation as he joins the Argentina national squad amid the threat of Hurricane Milton. Buonanotte has been called up to the Argentina team for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers. This call came unexpectedly as he replaced Alejandro Garnacho, who withdrew due to an injury.

Argentina is set to face Venezuela and Bolivia in their qualifying matches. However, the team has opted to prepare in Miami, a location currently threatened by Hurricane Milton as it advances through the Gulf of Mexico towards Florida. As a precaution, Argentina hoped to depart from Miami before the hurricane’s anticipated impact on Wednesday.

Buonanotte missed international play earlier this year but has been recognized for his impressive performances on loan at Leicester City. There, he is averaging one goal involvement every 90 minutes, indicating a strong start to the season. His teammate at Leicester, Victor Kristiansen, commented, “It is a very difficult situation when you go out to a club on loan. It’s almost like a one-year exam to show how good you are – and that makes it challenging.”

Meanwhile, former Argentine midfielder Alexis Mac Allister trained separately from the main squad due to discomfort in his right adductor muscle, casting doubt on his availability for the Venezuela match. As for Buonanotte, any participation in the upcoming games is expected to be limited, likely coming off the bench.

In related news, Valentin Barco, who is currently on loan at Sevilla, was not called up this time due to a mixed start to his stint with the Spanish club.
