Arsenal Players Warming Up Before Sunderland Match

London, England — Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has made three significant changes to the lineup ahead of their Premier League clash against Sunderland this evening. The Gunners aim to extend their impressive winning streak following a 3-0 victory over Slavia Prague midweek.

Ebere Eze and Martin Zubimendi return to the midfield, with Zubimendi reinstated after serving a suspension last match. This marks Eze’s sixth consecutive start in the Premier League. Arsenal, currently sitting at the top of the table, hopes to secure a ninth successive clean sheet for the first time in club history.

Defender Riccardo Calafiori retains his spot at left-back, selected over Piero Hincapie. Calafiori’s consistent performance has been a key factor this season. Also on the bench are Christian Norgaard and Ethan Nwaneri, who played in the previous match.

Up front, Mikel Merino, who scored twice in Prague, will lead the attack in the absence of Viktor Gyokeres due to injury. Additionally, Kepa Arrizabalaga returns to the bench after missing the last game.

Sunderland, managed by Regis Le Bris, will field an unchanged lineup after a 1-1 draw against Everton. Granit Xhaka, who captains the Black Cats, faces his former club for the first time since his departure in the summer of 2023.

The starting XI for Sunderland includes Roefs, Hume, Mukiele, Ballard, Geertruida, Mandava, Xhaka, Sadiki, Traore, Le Fee, and Isidor.

Kick-off is scheduled for 17:30 local time, as both teams prepare for a crucial match that could have significant implications for the Premier League standings. With Sunderland currently fourth, the match promises to be a challenging encounter.
