Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment have combined the final two episodes of the critically acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan into a single film, Attack on Titan: The Last Attack, for a one-day theatrical event on February 10. The film will screen in select U.S. and Canadian theaters, available in both Japanese with English subtitles and English dubbed versions.

The anime series, based on Hajime Isayama‘s award-winning manga, follows humanity’s struggle for survival against monstrous Titans. The story centers on Eren Jaeger, who vows revenge after losing his mother to the Titans and later discovers a shocking truth about the world. The film’s synopsis reveals Eren’s plan to unleash the “Rumbling,” a catastrophic event that threatens all life, prompting his former allies and enemies to unite in a desperate attempt to stop him.

Directed by Yûichirô Hayashi, the film features character design by Tomohiro Kishi, art direction by Kuniaki Nemoto, and music by Kohta Yamamoto and Hiroyuki Sawano. Animation is produced by MAPPA, the studio behind the series’ final seasons.

Since its premiere in 2013, Attack on Titan has garnered widespread acclaim, with three seasons achieving a 100% critic score on Rotten Tomatoes and ranking #23 on IMDb‘s list of top TV shows. The series concluded in Fall 2023, leaving fans eager for the cinematic finale.

Additional international release dates for Attack on Titan: The Last Attack are expected to be announced soon. The film promises to deliver an epic conclusion to one of the most beloved anime series of all time.
