Ayalaan Review: Sivakarthikeyan’s Alien Movie Provides Fun Timepass
Director R Ravikumar‘s sophomore film Ayalaan, starring Sivakarthikeyan, has hit the screens after a delay of several years. The science fiction Tamil film introduces an alien character named Tattoo, voiced by Siddharth, who befriends the protagonist Tamizh, played by Sivakarthikeyan.
Ayalaan revolves around Tattoo’s mission to return home and the bond it forms with Tamizh and his group of friends, played by Yogi Babu and Karunakaran, to save the planet from impending doom.
Director Ravikumar has successfully incorporated commercial elements such as song-and-dance numbers, comedy, emotions, romance, and a villainous corporate entity. The visual effects in the film are noteworthy, giving the alien character a realistic feel. Siddharth’s voice modulation adds to Tattoo’s human-like demeanor.
However, the storyline of Ayalaan is somewhat cliched, and some scenes feel disjointed. Despite these flaws, the performances of Sivakarthikeyan, Siddharth, Yogi Babu, and Karunakaran are commendable, and Rakul Preet Singh shines as Sivakarthikeyan’s love interest.
Ayalaan, although delayed in its release, still manages to entertain both adults and children seeking a fun timepass. It will be interesting to see how the audience receives this unique Tamil alien movie.
