Baldoni Receives Support Amid Legal Battle with Lively and Reynolds
Los Angeles, CA – Justin Baldoni is navigating a challenging legal battle with his It Ends With Us co-star Blake Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds. Amid this tension, Baldoni received messages of support from his friend, Rainn Wilson, as revealed in recently released text messages filed as evidence by Baldoni’s legal team.
The texts stem from a group chat dated January 5, 2024, which included Baldoni, Wilson, actor Travis Van Winkle, musician Andy Grammer, and producer Jamey Heath. In this chat, Wilson reached out, asking, “Any update, Brothers?” Baldoni responded with details about an intense conversation he had with Reynolds, describing it as “one of the hardest nights of my life.”
Baldoni recounted that Reynolds spoke to him “like a five-year-old,” criticizing Baldoni and Heath’s podcast, claiming it made people feel unsafe. Baldoni noted that the words “creepy” and “abuse” were used in reference to his behavior. He said he was pressured to apologize but struggled to articulate a response due to shock.
Wilson expressed his disbelief and concern, stating, “Oh my God. I can’t believe it. You were set up and ambushed and personally attacked.” He encouraged Baldoni to focus on moving forward and creating impactful storytelling.
This legal feud began when Lively filed a complaint with the California Civil Rights Department on December 20, 2024, accusing Baldoni of sexual harassment and fostering a hostile work environment. Baldoni countered with a defamation lawsuit against Lively and Reynolds, which was dismissed. On November 12, he filed a motion to dismiss Lively’s claims. The trial is scheduled for March.
