Baltimore-Area Schools, Offices Close Amid Severe Weather

BALTIMORE, Md. — With the arrival of severe winter weather, Baltimore-area schools, offices, and government services announced widespread cancellations and closures for Monday, January 6, 2025. The decision comes as the region braces for heavy snowfall and hazardous conditions.

Baltimore City Public Schools, Baltimore County Public Schools, Howard County Public Schools, Anne Arundel County Public Schools, and Carroll County Public Schools all confirmed closures Sunday evening. Private schools in the region, including Gilman School and Roland Park Country School, also canceled classes and extracurricular activities.

Local government offices and non-essential services in Baltimore City and surrounding counties will remain closed Monday. Officials urged residents to stay off roads unless absolutely necessary, citing dangerous driving conditions and limited snowplow availability.
