Alex Jones Bankruptcy Court Hearing

A bankruptcy trustee overseeing the liquidation of Alex Jones‘ assets has requested court approval to pay the right-wing conspiracy theorist’s parents $375,000 as part of a settlement tied to dietary supplements promoted on his Infowars show. The proposed deal, filed on Jan. 3 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas, aims to resolve a $68 million claim from PQPR Holdings Ltd., a dietary supplement company majority-owned by Jones’ estate and managed by his father, David Jones.

The settlement would resolve a dispute involving PQPR Holdings, which claimed Jones owed the company millions for unpaid debts related to supplements advertised on his show. According to court documents, the trustee argued that the payment to Jones’ parents, who hold a minority stake in PQPR Holdings, would simplify the bankruptcy process and avoid prolonged litigation.

Alex Jones, known for spreading conspiracy theories, filed for bankruptcy in 2022 after being ordered to pay over $1.5 billion in damages to families of Sandy Hook shooting victims. The families successfully sued Jones for defamation after he repeatedly claimed the 2012 school shooting was a hoax.

The trustee’s filing emphasized that the proposed settlement is in the best interest of Jones’ creditors and the bankruptcy estate. “This agreement allows for a swift resolution of a complex claim and avoids further legal expenses,” the trustee stated in the court documents.

PQPR Holdings, which sells supplements like Brain Force Plus and Super Male Vitality, has been a frequent topic on Jones’ Infowars platform. Critics have accused the company of exploiting Jones’ audience by promoting unproven health products.

The bankruptcy court is expected to review the settlement proposal in the coming weeks. If approved, the payment to Jones’ parents would mark another chapter in the ongoing legal and financial fallout from Jones’ controversial career.
