Harry Kane Football Transfer News

BARCELONA, Spain — FC Barcelona has identified Harry Kane as their top target to replace Robert Lewandowski, whose contract expires in June. The Spanish champions believe the 32-year-old England captain represents an ideal younger option to fill the void left by the 37-year-old Polish striker.

Barcelona is reportedly willing to activate a clause in Kane’s contract, which would allow him to leave Bayern Munich for £57 million this summer. Kane has been in excellent form since joining Bayern from Tottenham, netting 108 goals in just 113 appearances.

Earlier this year, Kane became the fastest player this century to reach 100 goals for a club in one of Europe’s top five leagues. He has also ended his trophy drought, winning significant titles with Bayern.

Although Kane expressed interest in staying with Bayern beyond his contract, which runs until June 2027, the allure of joining another major club and competing for prestigious honors could persuade him to move to Barcelona. The club already features England international Marcus Rashford, who is on loan from Manchester United. An option in Rashford’s contract allows Barcelona to sign him permanently for £30 million.

Meanwhile, Barcelona president Joan Laporta has dismissed the idea of Lionel Messi returning to the club. Messi’s recent visit to Camp Nou has fueled speculation about his possible return from Inter Miami. “Out of respect for Messi, our players, and our members, it’s not the time to speculate with unrealistic scenarios,” Laporta told Catalunya Radio.
