Bearded Theory Festival Catton Park 2025

The Bearded Theory Festival has unveiled its much-anticipated lineup ahead of the 2025 event, which is set to attract approximately 10,000 music enthusiasts. Scheduled to take place from May 21 to May 25, the festival will be held at Catton Park in Derbyshire, an ideal location renowned for its scenic countryside setting.

This year’s headline acts include punk rock legend Iggy Pop, the iconic Manic Street Preachers, gothic rock group The Sisters of Mercy, and electronic music pioneers Leftfield. Other notable performers on the lineup are the post-punk band Yard Act and the Irish act The Mary Wallopers. In addition, the lineup boasts rising stars such as Divorce, Lime Garden, The Lovely Eggs, and Bess Atwell, promising a diverse musical experience across various genres.

Now in its latest edition, Bearded Theory has grown into a festival with eight distinct stages, offering a wide range of performances and experiences. The main Pallet and Meadow stages are set to host the major acts, while the Woodland stage provides a more intimate venue for a blend of folk and rock performances. Reflecting an appreciation for electronic and dance music, the festival’s CODA area, introduced in recent years, will return with anticipated DJ sets.

In addition to its musical offerings, Bearded Theory prides itself on educational initiatives. The festival notably features the UK’s first on-site “Festival School” within its award-winning Children’s Area. This initiative requires pre-festival enrollment and parental approval, and offers educational classes for children from reception up to Year 10, occurring on the Friday of the festival from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Subjects have previously included budgeting through Maths, PE classes with Derby County FC, and Design and Technology workshops.

For those seeking experiences beyond music, the festival provides the Earth Area, a zone dedicated to eco-friendly activities and crafts. Attendees can partake in activities such as wood whittling, basket making, and vinyl upcycling, or join discussions, poetry workshops, and enjoy holistic practices like massages and tarot reading.

The festival’s unique environment is enhanced by additional entertainment options ranging from karaoke sessions at the Catton Fiddle pub to themed costume parties and silent discos set under enchanting fairy-lit woodland canopies. Tickets for the event are currently available, with options for monthly payment plans to ease the financial commitment for festival-goers. More details on payment plans and other festival amenities can be accessed on the festival’s official website.
