March Begins with Rain Forecasts and Thunderstorms

SAN DIEGO, Calif. — March has arrived with a rainy start, as local forecasts predict a mix of precipitation and thunderstorms later in the day. Rainfall began overnight, but significant showers are expected to intensify around 6 p.m. today, impacting evening commuters across the region.
The National Weather Service reports that showers will reach their peak overnight, leading to a wet start for many on Monday morning. In some areas, residents may even experience thunderstorms during the early hours.
“We anticipate the rain to weaken significantly by late Monday morning,” said Moses Small, ABC 10News Weather Anchor. “The showers will taper off by Monday night, ensuring dry conditions for the evening commute home.”
Despite the rain, temperatures today will remain cool, with coastal and inland areas expected to hit only the low 60s. Mountain regions are forecasted to top out at mid-40s, while the deserts will experience higher temperatures near 70 degrees.
As the stormy pattern continues, forecasters indicate a return to drier conditions on Tuesday. However, another round of rain is expected to arrive Wednesday night, with light to moderate showers predicted for Thursday.
After this tumultuous start to March, locals can look forward to warmer and drier weather by Saturday. In terms of temperatures for Sunday, the forecast is as follows:
Coast: 59-63°
Inland: 55-61°
Mountains: 44-56°
Deserts: 66-72°
