HO CHI MINH CITY, Vietnam – Quý Bình, a celebrated Vietnamese actor known for his outstanding performances, passed away at the age of 42 on March 6, 2025, after a prolonged battle with illness.

According to family members, Quý Bình died on March 6. His brother, Lê Phước, expressed the family’s grief on social media, saying, “Sleep well, brother; there will be no more pain. If there is a next life, let us be brothers again. Goodbye, my beloved brother.”

Minh Luân, a close colleague, shared his shock at the news, stating, “I learned from his family that on the night of March 5, Quý Bình was critically ill and was rushed to the hospital but unfortunately did not survive. His family brought him home the morning of March 6 for his final rites.”

In recent years, Quý Bình had significantly reduced his artistic engagements to focus on his health. After marrying businesswoman Ngọc Tiền in late 2021, he dedicated his time to his family. In March 2022, they welcomed their first child, a son named Eric. His wife described him as a devoted husband and father, always protective and loving towards her and their child.

During the last years of his life, the actor stepped back from numerous film projects to establish his own media and entertainment company. Quý Bình, born Lê Ngọc Bình, grew up in a large family of nine siblings in a modest household reliant on agricultural work. He often helped his parents by carrying straw in his youth. Despite a family background devoid of any artistic inclination, he displayed an early talent for acting, ultimately pursuing his passion despite initial resistance from his family.

Quý Bình gained fame on television through notable projects such as “Nữ bác sĩ,” “Luật giang hồ” (2007), and “Con đường sáng” (2008). His performances in director Phương Điền’s “Dù gió có thổi” and “Cá Rô em yêu anh!” helped solidify his popularity with audiences. He also starred in successful films including “Năm sau con lại về” (2014), “Quả tim máu” (2014), and “Bao giờ có yêu nhau” (2016).

In recognition of his talents, he received various awards, including Outstanding Actor at the National Experimental Theater Festival in 2008 and Favorite Actor at the HTV Awards in 2012. He was honored as Best Actor at the Golden Kite Awards in 2012 for his role in “Bước qua bóng tối.” Throughout his time in the industry, Quý Bình also took part in singing competitions, winning the “Tình bolero” contest, and served as a host for programs including “Solo cùng Bolero” and “Thay lời muốn nói.”

His passing has prompted an outpouring of tributes from fans and fellow artists alike. Singer Đức Tuấn said, “I will miss Bình dearly. May he rest peacefully. He will always be remembered.” Many fans left messages of condolence on Quý Bình’s social media, expressing their sadness and wishing him peace in the afterlife.

Quý Bình’s life story, marked by success in a challenging industry, resonates with many. He enjoyed a flourishing career that spanned television, film, and music, leaving behind a rich legacy that will be fondly remembered.
