Beloved Broadcaster Randy Snow Passes Away
It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of Randy Snow‘s passing at age 61. He died of natural causes, leaving behind a legacy that touched many lives in Newfoundland and beyond.
Since his start in radio back in 1988, Randy Snow became a household name, especially known for his iconic role on OZFM. Moving from his hometown of Gander to St. John’s, he quickly became a favorite for listeners across the province, notably hosting the popular Dawn Patrol program.
Randy dedicated 15 years to OZFM before moving to Steele Communications for 16 years. In 2019, he made a warm return to OZFM to host the Morning Jam, where his familiar voice brought joy to many, yet he had to leave amicably in 2023.
His signature voice and friendly personality made his show a morning staple for countless listeners, and he was a prominent figure in shaping the station’s sound. Scott Stirling, President of Newfoundland Broadcasting Company, expressed gratitude for Randy’s contributions, saying he was a true media icon.
Many in the industry, including Lindsey Andrews, COO of the company, shared their sadness over the news, and they are keeping his family in their thoughts. Randy’s passing marks the end of a wonderful chapter in Newfoundland broadcasting.
Randy leaves behind his loving parents, Patricia and Roy, his sister Gina, as well as extended family and countless fans who have cherished his voice through many memorable moments and occasions over the years.
