Canadian billionaire Frank Stronach is facing additional criminal charges, including sexual assault, as revealed by Peel Regional Police. Peel Const. Tyler Bell-Morena confirmed that the new charges involve six counts of sexual assault and two other criminal counts.

The latest charges bring the total number against Stronach to 13. The investigation into Stronach, aged 91, dates back several decades and is part of a historical sexual assault probe.

The first arrest of Stronach took place on June 7 following initial charges laid out by the Peel Regional Police. Court documents show that the allegations span from the 1980s to 2023. The case involves complainants from three separate incidents over the years.

It was reported that following the first set of charges, new victims came forward, prompting the additional allegations against Stronach. Peel police have not disclosed the number of additional victims or the specific timelines related to the new charges.

Stronach, who was granted bail after his initial arrest, is bound by conditions such as surrendering his passport, updating authorities on any change of address, and refraining from contacting the three known complainants involved in the case. His next court appearance is scheduled for July 8 in Brampton, where the original set of charges will be addressed.

Stronach’s lawyer, Brian Greenspan, reiterated his client’s denial of the allegations and expressed Stronach’s intent to defend himself against the charges vehemently. Greenspan highlighted Stronach’s contributions to the Canadian community and industry over the years.

Frank Stronach, the founder of Magna International Inc., has had no association with the company since 2010. Similarly, The Stronach Group, another venture of the billionaire, confirmed that Stronach has been disengaged from any formal roles in the enterprise in recent years.
