Billy Graham Evangelistic Association Launches TV Program for Hurricane Helene Survivors
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — In the wake of Hurricane Helene‘s devastation, the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA) has launched a new TV program titled “Storms of Life,” aimed at addressing the emotional and spiritual needs of survivors. The program highlights the stories of those affected by the storm and showcases the efforts of over 600 BGEA chaplains working alongside Samaritan's Purse disaster relief teams.
“We want people to know that God loves them, that God cares for them,” said Franklin Graham, president and CEO of BGEA and Samaritan’s Purse. “Sometimes when a storm like this comes, people think, ‘Well, maybe God is mad at us.’ No, God loves us. How do I know that? Because the Bible tells us that God loves us and cares for us.”
The program, now airing on local stations and national Christian networks, features heart-wrenching testimonies from individuals who have lost homes, loved ones, and livelihoods. It also documents the work of chaplains who have been providing spiritual support and sharing the message of Jesus Christ with survivors in their darkest moments.
Founded in 1950 by evangelist Billy Graham, the BGEA has long been involved in disaster relief efforts. The organization’s Rapid Response Team has deployed to numerous disaster zones worldwide, offering prayer, comfort, and practical assistance. This latest initiative underscores the BGEA’s commitment to addressing both the physical and spiritual needs of those affected by natural disasters.
