The Uttar Pradesh Board of Secondary Education released the results for the Class 10 and Class 12 exams for the year 2024 on April 20. The results revealed that Prachi Nigam from Sitapur district secured 98.50% marks to become the topper in the Class 10 exams, whereas Shubham Verma, also from Sitapur, topped the Class 12 exams with 97.80%.

Education (Secondary) Director Mahendra Dev announced that the pass percentage for Class 10 was 89.55% and for Class 12 was 82.60%. The exams were conducted from February 22, with more than 55 lakh candidates participating, the highest number in recent years.

To ensure the integrity of the examinations, the board employed various strategies. Each candidate was provided with an admit card containing QR codes for secure identification. Over three lakh exam invigilators were deployed, supported by a three-tier team to open question paper packets. Any deviation from the protocol resulted in strict disciplinary actions.

To prevent cheating, the Special Task Force (STF), local intelligence department, and police were actively involved. The Quick Response Team (QRT) monitored social media for irregularities. Additionally, a robust monitoring system, including Sector Magistrates and mobile squads, oversaw the examination process.
