Bomb Blast Shakes Bengaluru's Rameshwaram Cafe, Injuring Nine People

A bomb blast at Bengaluru‘s iconic Rameshwaram Cafe has left nine people injured, confirmed Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. The incident, which took place in the bustling Brookefield area, has shocked the local community.

CCTV footage revealed a man placing a bag inside the cafe, leading to the explosion. Initial reports indicate that the blast occurred around 1 pm, causing black smoke to engulf the setting.

The Director General of Police stated that further investigations are underway to determine the nature of the explosive device. While initial assessments suggest it was an improvised explosive, the specifics are yet to be confirmed.

Siddaramaiah detailed that the individual who left the bag inside the cafe also interacted with the cash counter, raising suspicions about the motive behind the incident. The cashier is currently assisting authorities with their inquiries.

Nine individuals, including staff members and a customer, sustained injuries in the blast. Fortunately, their conditions are reported as non-critical, providing a small sigh of relief amidst the chaos.

BJP MP Tejasvi Surya reported that the cafe’s owner attributed the explosion to a bag left behind by a customer, indicating a potential security breach. Surya characterized the event as a clear case of a bomb blast, further heightening concerns.

Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara is anticipated to arrive at the scene shortly to assess the situation firsthand and offer support to the affected individuals and businesses.
