Bradley Walsh Learns New Slang Phrase on The Chase

The Chase host Bradley Walsh had a humorous moment on the ITV quiz show when he learned a new slang phrase from a contestant. Music manager Danny from Plymouth was competing against quiz master Paul Sinha on Wednesday’s episode when he was asked a Love Island question. He correctly identified that late arrivals on the reality show are known as ‘bombshells’.

In the midst of the question, one of the incorrect answers mentioned the term ‘peng tings’, which left Bradley confused. He turned to Danny and asked, ‘You’re going to have to excuse my ignorance here, but what is a peng ting?’ The exchange amused viewers and sparked conversation on social media.

Some fans were surprised that Bradley did not know the meaning of ‘peng ting’. One viewer wrote, ‘Can’t believe Bradley Walsh did not know what a “Peng Ting” was!’ Another requested, ‘Please let that be the first and last time I hear Bradley say peng ting.’ A third viewer commented that it made for uncomfortable viewing.

Explaining to Bradley, Danny clarified that ‘peng ting’ is a slang term used to describe someone attractive. However, the amusement was short-lived as The Sinnerman, Paul Sinha, eliminated half of the contestants in the cash-building round, leaving the remaining team members with no chance to win the top prize. Paul boasted that he was ‘on top form’ before the show ended.

The Chase, hosted by Bradley Walsh, airs on ITV weekdays at 5pm. Viewers can also catch up and watch repeats on ITVX.
