Brady and Druski Push for Super Bowl Monday Holiday Campaign
PHILADELPHIA, PA – Tom Brady has joined comedian Druski and Gopuff in a campaign to make the Monday after the Super Bowl a national holiday. This initiative, known as ‘The Super Monday Off Coalition,’ seeks to advocate for the day to become a federally recognized holiday through political action.
Gopuff co-founder Yakir Gola stated in a news release, ‘The Big Game brings every single American together. That’s why the Monday after the Big Game must become Super Monday – an official federal holiday that honors our love for competition, victory, and the greatest country on Earth.’
This campaign is not just promotional; it aims for real legislative change. A source involved in the campaign revealed that targeted ads will soon aim to rally support from Washington, D.C., to initiate the holiday’s recognition. Gola added, ‘By supporting this effort, we’re putting real action behind a cultural truth.’
Brady, in a new Gopuff advertisement titled ‘Hard Pass,’ highlights the reality that many employees call out sick the Monday after the Super Bowl. He said, ‘Going into work the day after the big game? Hard pass.’ Brady stresses that the large number of absences can disrupt businesses and negatively impact the economy.
The campaign’s survey from Harris Poll shows that 43% of American workers believe that the Monday after the Super Bowl should be a national holiday, while 56% of Big Game viewers wish for the day off. Gopuff indicates that such a holiday could reduce an estimated $3 billion in lost economic activity.
Through the holiday season, Gopuff will donate 1% of its profits from specific products to The Super Monday Off Coalition. The company encourages customers to sign a petition online and contact their elected representatives. Gola states, ‘Declaring Super Monday a national holiday is the ultimate pro-family, pro-worker, pro-America win.’
As anticipation builds for the upcoming Super Bowl on Feb. 8 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, the movement seeks to unite fans in favor of a new national holiday.
