A Brisbane woman has become the third-biggest lottery winner in Australian history after winning the $100 million Powerball jackpot. The winning ticket was nearly lost when the woman realized she had won following a recent draw.

The woman, who was unaware of the winning outcome, checked her ticket after hearing news of a mystery winner in the region. She had left the ticket in her car’s glovebox and only remembered it after a morning run.

She expressed her disbelief at the win, stating, “I’m scared to breathe in case this isn’t real.” She had purchased the ticket while shopping as a treat ahead of her upcoming birthday.

As for her plans for the winnings, the woman indicated that she and her family are still processing the significance of their new fortune. “We’ve worked so hard our whole lives for everything we’ve had, and we really don’t live a lavish lifestyle,” she said.

The winning numbers from Powerball draw 1475 were 16, 24, 11, 4, 10, 18, and 23, with the Powerball number being 6. The Brisbane woman was the only division one winner in this draw.

This remarkable win marks only the sixth occasion when a winner has claimed a lottery prize of $100 million or more in Australia. In addition to the significant division one prize, there were 3,389,212 wins across other divisions totaling a substantial payout as well.
