BRS leader K Kavitha, currently incarcerated in Tihar Jail in connection with the Delhi excise policy case, was urgently escorted to Delhi’s DDU Hospital on Tuesday evening.

While the reason for her hospitalization remains undisclosed, K Kavitha’s arrest, alongside several high-profile individuals, including Arvind Kejriwal of AAP, stemmed from a money laundering probe linked to the Delhi excise policy case.

The daughter of former Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, K Kavitha is currently under judicial custody as a result of the ongoing investigations by both the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

Allegations against K Kavitha suggest her involvement in a group supposedly offering kickbacks amounting to ₹100 crore to AAP for influencing liquor policy in their favor.

The CBI recently filed a supplementary charge sheet against K Kavitha, citing substantial evidence to support the corruption charges she is facing, making her a key figure in the unfolding legal proceedings.

Despite being questioned inside the prison by investigative authorities, K Kavitha sought ‘default’ bail in a corruption case, claiming that the chargesheet against her was incomplete, thus challenging the grounds for her extended detention beyond the specified duration.

With her case scheduled for further hearing on July 22, K Kavitha’s presence in the hospital underscores the health concerns amidst the legal complexities surrounding her ongoing legal battles.
