A brush fire erupted Wednesday afternoon in Acton, California, prompting a full response from the Los Angeles County Fire Department. The blaze, named the Lidia Fire, was first reported at approximately 1:01 p.m. near the 5700 block of Soledad Canyon Road, according to Luis Garcia of the Fire Department’s media information line. Initial reports indicated the fire covered one acre, but its size may have grown as aerial resources were mobilized from regional incidents by 1:30 p.m.

Soledad Canyon Road was closed in both directions at Crown Valley Road due to the firefighting efforts. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Garcia noted that buildings in the area were threatened, and fire crews were setting up structure defense groups to protect nearby homes.

The Angeles National Forest tweeted that firefighters were responding to the brush fire, which was spreading rapidly due to wind conditions. Metrolink also reported delays in the area, with AV Line 216 to Los Angeles holding at Vincent Grade/Acton due to fire department activity near the tracks. Updates on the situation are expected as more information becomes available.

Residents are advised to avoid the area and monitor local news for updates. The Lidia Fire marks another incident in a region prone to wildfires, particularly during dry and windy conditions. Emergency responders are working to contain the blaze and prevent further damage to structures and infrastructure.
