Cardi B Accused of Sabotaging Tasha K’s Bankruptcy Case
Cardi B is facing accusations from blogger Tasha K, who claims the rapper is sabotaging her career and bankruptcy case. The allegations come three years after Tasha K was ordered to pay Cardi B $3.4 million for defamation. In a 2022 lawsuit, Cardi B successfully sued Tasha K for spreading false claims about her being a drug-abusing prostitute with sexually transmitted infections.
According to legal documents obtained by TMZ on January 7, 2025, Tasha K alleges that Cardi B is attempting to “bully her financially” by exposing her alleged secret offshore trust accounts in the Cook Islands, Nevis, and Georgia. Tasha K also claims that Cardi B is trying to impose restrictions on her ability to speak freely on her blogs and social media as part of any debt settlement.
In response, Cardi B’s legal team filed a motion in Florida Bankruptcy Court in December 2024, accusing Tasha K of fraudulently transferring assets and income out of her name and into her husband Cheickna Kebe’s name or his business. The rapper’s lawyers argue that Tasha K is still living a luxurious lifestyle, citing her recent move into a $7,000-per-month apartment.
Cardi B is requesting that the court dismiss Tasha K’s bankruptcy case and prevent her from refiling for the next two years. Tasha K previously told the court that she had less than $60,000 in assets and only $95 in her bank account. However, she recently boasted about selling out VIP tables at her New Year’s Eve celebration, which was attended by 400 fans at the Bayou City Event Center in Houston.
This legal battle is the latest in a series of defamation lawsuits against Tasha K. She has been sued by Kevin Hart, R. Kelly, Soulja Boy, and Bishop Lamor Whitehead, whose case was dismissed in August 2024. Meanwhile, Cardi B has hinted at the release of her long-delayed sophomore album, following her 2018 debut, “Invasion of Privacy.” The rapper emphasized the importance of January 2025 for her career, stating on Instagram Live, “I have a mission to complete. If I don’t, it’s gonna mess up the whole schedule for this year.”
