Celebrating the Life and Legacy of AKA on His 36th Birthday

Fans and supporters from all corners of South Africa came together to celebrate the late multi-talented rapper AKA on what would have been his 36th birthday. The occasion was marked by a special event organized by the Kiernan Forbes Foundation, in collaboration with local designers, featuring an art and merchandise pop-up exhibition.

Amongst the attendees were friends, fans, and business associates, all who had fond memories of the late rapper. eNCA reporter Theodor Mashele conducted interviews on the ground, capturing the sentiments of those who remembered AKA.

AKA, whose birth name was Kiernan Forbes, was a revered figure in the music industry. He was known by his fans as Supamega, an apt title given his talented and versatile nature.

In a touching tribute, rapper Nadia Nakai released a single titled Never Leave, dedicated to AKA. The track features KashCPT and is part of Nakai’s commitment to creating a tribute EP for her late boyfriend.
