Celtic will be without wingers Nicolas Kuhn and Daizen Maeda for their Scottish Premiership clash against Ross County on Saturday due to minor injuries. Kuhn, 25, was withdrawn from Wednesday’s 2-0 win over Dundee United after feeling discomfort in his thigh during the warm-up, while Maeda, 27, picked up a strain after scoring the opener in the same match.

Manager Brendan Rodgers confirmed the injuries are not serious but ruled both players out of the weekend fixture. “Daizen has played a lot of football and felt something we didn’t want to aggravate. He’s had a scan, and it’s not too serious, but he won’t be available for this game,” Rodgers said. “Nicolas also felt something in the warm-up, and while the scan showed nothing major, it’s too much of a risk to play him this weekend.”

Rodgers also revealed that Luis Palma will miss the trip due to a personal bereavement, while James Forrest remains sidelined. However, both Kuhn and Maeda could return for Celtic’s away match against Dundee on Tuesday.

Celtic, who lead the Scottish Premiership with 56 points from 21 games, are aiming to extend their 16-point advantage over second-placed Rangers. Despite recent injuries, Rodgers expressed confidence in his squad’s depth and hinted at potential January signings. “We’re hopeful of bringing in players who can help us, but availability and affordability are challenges this month,” he said.

Meanwhile, Ross County, sitting 10th in the table, are looking to build on their recent form, having won three of their last four matches. The Staggies face an uphill battle against the league leaders, who have lost just twice in all competitions this season.
