Central Florida Weather Forecast January 2025

ORLANDO, Fla. – Central Florida residents are preparing for a weekend of showers and dropping temperatures as a cold front moves through the region. After a brief warmup on Friday, with highs reaching the lower 70s, another round of cold weather is expected to settle in by Sunday.

Friday marked the warmest day of the week, with temperatures climbing into the 70s after days of cloudy and chilly conditions. However, the relief will be short-lived. A cold front connected to a massive winter storm system affecting areas north of I-20 is expected to bring rain and cooler temperatures to Central Florida overnight Friday and into Saturday morning.

According to meteorologists, the rain will begin as early as 4 a.m. Saturday, with scattered showers expected throughout the morning. While the precipitation will taper off by the afternoon, temperatures will remain cooler, with highs in the mid to upper 60s. The cooler air will persist into Sunday, with overnight lows dropping into the upper 30s and 40s.

Marquise Meda, a meteorologist with WESH 2, explained, “The same cold system dropping snow and ice across the northern U.S. is bringing us rain and cooler temperatures. Thankfully, our temperatures won’t drop as low as those up north, but it will still feel chilly.”

The weekend weather could impact outdoor activities, including the half marathon scheduled for Saturday morning. Runners may face soggy conditions early in the day, though temperatures will remain mild, starting in the 50s and 60s. Sunday, however, will be the better day for outdoor plans, with drier conditions and cooler temperatures.

Looking ahead to next week, another cold front is expected to bring scattered showers on Monday, followed by even cooler air. Highs will struggle to reach 60 degrees by midweek, with overnight lows dipping into the 30s. Residents are advised to stay updated on the forecast and prepare for potential cold weather advisories.

For the latest updates, Central Floridians can follow the WESH 2 First Warning Weather team, including Chief Meteorologist Tony Mainolfi, Eric Burris, Kellianne Klass, Marquise Meda, and Cam Tran.
