Charli Xcx Storm King Art Center Concert

International pop sensation Charli XCX has announced a surprise gig at the Storm King Art Center in upstate New York, coinciding with the upcoming release of her new remix album “Brat.” The concert is scheduled to take place on Thursday, with doors opening at 3 p.m. Charli shared the news on her social media account Tuesday, expressing her excitement to perform her new album live for her fans.

“Nyyyyyyy I want to play you my new album, shall we go upstate?” Charli posted to X, inviting fans to RSVP for the show. However, she noted that an RSVP does not guarantee entry, with confirmed guests receiving an email with further instructions.

The singer, who is currently on tour with Troye Sivan, has created significant buzz around “Brat,” her most ambitious album rollout yet. The remix album boasts collaborations with high-profile artists including Ariana Grande, Tinashe, The 1975, Bon Iver, and Julian Casablancas. A viral marketing campaign featuring neon green billboards with the collaborators’ names backwards has been part of the promotional effort.

Discussing her collaboration with Grande, Charli noted in an interview that the song “Sympathy is a Knife” reflects her recent experiences of being scrutinized in the media. “It’s hard to be constantly scrutinized for things that you have said,” she stated. “And it gave me so much empathy for bigger artists who go through that on a daily basis and have been for years.”

The “Brat” album, which is scheduled for release on October 11, follows Charli’s busy year of performances and acting pursuits. She reportedly filmed a movie in Poland this summer amidst the hype for her music career, demonstrating her versatility as an artist. Director Ava Ohs praised Charli’s performance, noting, “Charli is an excellent actress. She is a performer. She understands what it’s like to have a camera pointed at her.”
