Mild Sunny Weather Forecast 2025

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. — A dramatic shift in weather is expected this week, moving from cold temperatures and snow flurries to a milder and mostly sunny forecast. The National Weather Service anticipates a high of nearly 53 degrees on Wednesday, February 26, with a chance of rain moving in late in the evening.

The warm-up will begin overnight as skies clear to reveal chilly conditions with temperatures dropping to around 35 degrees. Winds will be from the west-northwest at speeds of 5 to 15 mph, as reported by meteorologists.

Wednesday brings a bright change, with mostly sunny weather and highs approaching 53 degrees, complemented by light northwest winds. However, the clarity of the day will diminish overnight with a lingering chance for showers, with low temperatures dipping to about 39 degrees.

Thursday is predicted to start cloudy with morning rain showers likely. These showers are expected to taper off by the afternoon, leading to partly sunny skies. Highs on Thursday are expected to reach the low 50s, around 52 degrees, while lows will hover near 36 degrees.

Looking ahead, Friday will feature a cooler yet sunny day, with highs around 45 degrees and lows at 30 degrees. A return to drier conditions is expected for the weekend, starting Saturday with partly sunny skies and only a slight chance of a passing shower late in the day. Highs will be near 51 degrees during Saturday and drop to about 36 degrees on Sunday.

The forecast indicates a rollercoaster of weather for early March, beginning with a chilly start to the week and forecasted milder conditions by the weekend. Meteorologist Alex Johnson commented, “We’re seeing a transition into a more variable weather pattern, moving from the cold snap we’ve experienced.”

This week’s transition also includes a forecast discussion about the potential impact of a few lake-effect snow showers, particularly in Chenango County, mostly on the weekend but expected to yield minor accumulations.

Despite the ongoing chilly temperatures, residents can look forward to pronounced warmth through the first week of March, with eventual highs in the low 40s by early next week. Rain is expected again on Tuesday, with forecasters predicting a 70% chance of precipitation.

The upcoming week reflects typical late February shifts, where winter’s grip loosens, making way for early spring conditions, suggesting the gradual departure of colder temperatures.
