Cincinnati Faces Cold Nights Before Rainy Week Ahead
CINCINNATI, Ohio — Cold nights and seasonally cool afternoons are settling over Cincinnati as the region braces for rainfall in the coming days. After a warm Saturday reaching the 70s, temperatures have plummeted about 20 degrees, leaving highs in the low to mid-50s this Sunday.
The transition began Saturday as a cold front moved through the area, dropping evening temperatures into the 40s. According to the local forecast, conditions will continue to cool, with overnight lows possibly dipping into the upper 20s in rural areas, leading to frost on windshields as residents prepare for the workweek.
“Temperatures this evening will fall through the 40s into the 30s by late tonight, and Wednesday may see lingering showers. We can expect our first impact day on Tuesday due to a cold rain moving through,” said a local meteorologist.
The weather pattern looks to remain unsettled as rain will start late Monday night and continue into Tuesday. Early Tuesday morning could see widespread showers and storms, particularly between 4 a.m. and several rounds of rain throughout the day. The strongest storms are predicted to hit the Tri-State around 5 p.m., moving out by 9 p.m.
Forecasts anticipate rainfall totals for the week to vary, with northern areas expecting around 0.75 inches and southern areas potentially seeing up to 1.5 inches. As the week progresses, there is also a chance of thunderstorms on Friday as another cold front approaches the region.
In summary, local residents can expect cooler temperatures followed by wet conditions early in the week, making for a dynamic weather situation in Cincinnati.
