Cindy Cherry Remembered as a Wonderful Soul

Cindy Cherry, the beloved daughter of hockey personality Don Cherry, has passed away at the age of 67. She died unexpectedly on July 15 at Trillium Health Centre located in Mississauga.

An obituary posted on the Turner and Porter Funeral Directors website shares that Cindy was deeply involved in charitable efforts alongside her parents, working on initiatives such as Don Cherry’s Pet Rescue Foundation and Rose Cherry’s Home for Kids.

Throughout her life, Cindy was known for her dedication to her family. “She was dearly loved by her son Del, along with his father Roger,” the obituary mentioned. Additionally, she was a cherished daughter to Don and the late Rose, and a dear sister to Tim.

Cindy’s professional background included her role as a fund development and marketing associate at the Kidney Foundation of Canada, where she made a significant impact. She was also an avid volunteer, dedicating her time to various causes.

Visitors gathered last Sunday in the Cooksville area of Mississauga to honor her memory, and a private family interment is planned to take place in Kingston.

<pMessages of condolence are pouring in, with one reflecting on her commitment to volunteer work: “It was such a privilege and a joy to know Cindy. What a truly wonderful soul.” Another admirer called her a “passionate and committed force.”
