Cold Front Brings Chilly Temperatures and Windy Conditions to Texas
A significant cold front is expected to impact various regions of Texas, bringing a marked drop in temperatures and windy conditions. In North Texas, Tuesday morning started off chilly with temperatures in the low 50s and upper 40s, but afternoon highs soared above average, reaching the mid-70s[5].
On Wednesday, a cold front is anticipated to move through the area, causing winds to shift from the southeast to the northwest and gust up to 25 mph. This front will bring much lower humidity and more cloud cover, although the chance of rain remains slim[5].
In Central and South Texas, the forecast is similar, with warm days leading up to the cold front. Temperatures are expected to remain in the 80s and upper 70s until the front arrives on Wednesday evening. Following the front, mornings will become crisp and cool, with temperatures dipping into the 40s on Thursday and Friday[4].
The upcoming weekend will see a continuation of cool mornings, and by the middle of next week, another, stronger cold front is forecasted to bring even cooler temperatures. This second front could result in some of the coldest air of the season, with highs potentially in the 50s and lows in the upper 30s by next Tuesday through Thursday[4][5].
In addition to the temperature drop, there is a chance of rainfall associated with the next system, expected from Sunday evening into Monday. Residents are advised to prepare for the significant cool down and potential rain[4][5].
