South Florida Cold Front Weather Forecast

PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. – A weak cold front swept through South Florida on Monday, February 17, bringing cooler temperatures and a refreshing breeze to the region. Local 10 Meteorologist Betty Davis reported that high temperatures reached the low 80s in some areas, but by evening, many locations had cooled to the 70s, with Miami recording 77 degrees and Fort Lauderdale at 75.

The cold front was characterized by a northeast wind and lower dew points, providing a more comfortable atmosphere. “Not necessarily the strongest cold front, but it did a little something,” said Davis.

Overnight clouds are anticipated, with temperatures dipping to around 70 degrees. Some inland areas may experience temperatures as low as the upper 60s. Spotty showers are still possible, particularly in southern Miami-Dade and over the Atlantic waters near the Florida Keys.

Looking ahead, another, more powerful cold front is forecasted to arrive later in the week. This front is expected to bring scattered showers on Wednesday, followed by drier, cooler air on Thursday. Davis forecasts that high temperatures will drop to the upper 70s, with overnight lows approaching 60 degrees, and some inland areas potentially dipping into the 50s.

“If you put away the winter weather gear thinking we won’t get chilly weather anymore for the season, you may not be right about that,” Davis cautioned.
