Cold Front Brings Unseasonably Cool Weather to South Florida
A significant cold front is moving through South Florida, bringing with it the coolest temperatures the region has experienced since February. According to CBS News Miami‘s NEXT Weather team, this front will move through the area on Wednesday, leading to scattered showers and isolated storms during the midday and afternoon hours.
Temperatures on Thursday morning are expected to drop to the upper 60s and lower 70s, with afternoon highs trending below average, reaching only the upper 70s in Miami-Dade and Broward Counties, and the mid-70s in the Florida Keys. This cooler trend will continue through the weekend, with temperatures in the lower to mid-70s across South Florida.
The cold front also brings drier air, resulting in lower humidity and no rain concerns from Thursday through the start of the next work week. Residents can expect chilly mornings, with temperatures in the lower to mid-50s in Miami-Dade and Broward Counties by Friday, and the upper 60s to lower 70s in the Keys.
A gradual warming trend is anticipated to begin on Sunday, with temperatures returning to the lower 80s by Monday. This brief period of cool weather marks a significant departure from the typical warm climate of South Florida, making it a notable weather event for the region.
