Netflix is set to premiere its highly anticipated conspiracy thriller, ‘The Madness,’ on November 28, 2024. The series stars Academy Award nominee Colman Domingo as Muncie Daniels, a former social rights activist who has transitioned into a career as a media pundit for CNN. Muncie, in the midst of a pending divorce and a growing public profile, takes a work sabbatical in the Poconos to write the great American novel. However, his retreat quickly turns into a nightmare when he discovers the murder of a well-known white supremacist and is subsequently framed for the crime.

Forced to go on the run, Muncie must clear his name and unravel a complex global conspiracy. Along the way, he reconnects with his estranged family members and finds unlikely allies to help him navigate the treacherous landscape of disinformation in a post-truth world. The series promises a gripping mix of psychological thrills and character drama, drawing comparisons to the works of David Fincher, such as ‘The Game‘.

The ensemble cast of ‘The Madness’ includes Marsha Stephanie Blake from ‘The Last Day of Ptolemy Grey,’ Gabrielle Graham from ‘Twenties,’ John Ortiz from ‘Bad Monkey,’ Tamsin Topolski from ‘Slow Horses,’ Thaddeus J. Mixson from ‘Reasonable Doubt,’ and Deon Cole from ‘The Color Purple.’ The show is produced by Jenno Topping, Stephen Belber, Peter Chernin, and VJ Boyd, with direction by Clement Virgo.

In an interview, Colman Domingo discussed the unique approach to his character, highlighting Muncie’s pragmatic and less skittish demeanor compared to typical characters in the conspiracy thriller genre. Domingo emphasized the challenge of maintaining this energy throughout the eight-episode production.
