Columbia Homecoming 2025 Celebrated Despite Football Loss
New York, NY — Columbia University‘s Family Days and Homecoming 2025 took place on October 17 and 18, attracting nearly 3,000 alumni, students, and families. Despite a tough game against the Penn Quakers, who won 35-21, the Columbia community maintained a vibrant spirit throughout the weekend.
The festivities included the 2025 Undergraduate Research Symposium held at Roone Arledge Auditorium on Friday morning. Dean Josef Sorett and Columbia College Alumni Association president Raymond Yu ’89, SEAS’90 presented the Gerald Sherwin Young Alumni Service Awards to Maryam Hassan ’20 and Iyobosa Bello-Asemota ’19.
Participants enjoyed a lively Homecoming luncheon where enthusiastic Columbians showcased their school pride, with the cheerful Roar-ee character engaging with attendees, including young fans. Spectators also enjoyed performances from the cheerleading squad and the school’s band as they helped energize the crowd before kickoff.
The Columbia Lions put on an impressive display despite the loss, showcasing remarkable teamwork and sportsmanship on the field. While the Quakers secured the victory, fans in Columbia blue celebrated their team with loyalty and enthusiasm.
As Homecoming wrapped up, students and alumni alike expressed their devotion to Columbia, creating cherished memories that extended beyond the football scoreboard.
