Columbus Running Race Event April 2023

Columbus, Ohio – On April 26, more than 10,000 runners and walkers will take to the streets of Downtown Columbus for a major race event. The race will kick off at 8 a.m., featuring distances of 13.1 miles, 6.55 miles, and 3.1 miles, all starting and ending on South High Street, next to the John F. Wolfe Columbus Commons.

In preparation for the event, several roads will begin closing on the evening of April 25 and will remain closed until 2 p.m. on April 26. COTA, the Central Ohio Transit Authority, will also experience significant reroutes during this time. Road closures are expected to begin at 5 p.m. on April 25 to facilitate race setup.

Transit service for COTA lines 1, 2, 5, 8, 52, 61, 102, and CMAX will be affected, with some stops around South High Street impacted. On race day, transit stops will not service High Street from Ohio State University to German Village due to the event. Additional lines that will encounter reroutes include lines 3, 4, 6, 7, 9, 10, 11, 12, 22, and 31.

Reroutes will remain in effect until early afternoon on April 26, and all closures and service changes are subject to modification as the event progresses. Organizers urge residents and spectators to plan their travels accordingly.
