Community Mourns Tragic Loss Of 12 Year Old Jocelyn Nungaray In Houston Murder Case

Community members in Houston are reeling from the devastating loss of 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray, whose tragic murder has sparked outrage and demands for justice. U.S. Senator Ted Cruz of Texas has called for strong action in the wake of this heart-wrenching incident, blaming open border policies under Joe Biden‘s administration for the crime.

Authorities have confirmed that Jocelyn’s alleged killers, Franklin Jose Peña Ramos and Johan Jose Rangel Martinez, both entered the U.S. illegally and are currently held on immigration detainers at the Harris County Jail. Both men were detained by the U.S. Border Patrol near El Paso earlier this year and subsequently released.

The details surrounding Jocelyn’s murder are graphic and deeply disturbing. Court documents reveal that Peña and Martinez lured Jocelyn under a bridge, where they reportedly tied her up, killed her, and disposed of her body in a bayou. The suspects were apprehended at the Canfield Lakes apartments in Houston, where they resided together.

Acting Houston Police Chief Larry Satterwhite commended the tireless efforts of law enforcement in tracking down the suspects and gathering crucial evidence in the case. The community has come together to support Jocelyn’s family in their time of need and to demand justice for the young victim.

Mayor John Whitmire expressed his personal anguish over the tragedy, emphasizing the need for the justice system to hold the perpetrators accountable. Jocelyn’s mother, Alexis, shared her profound grief and anger at the senseless loss of her daughter, describing Jocelyn as a vibrant and loving young girl with a promising future ahead.

Jocelyn’s uncle, Joamel Guevara, remembered her fondly as a bright and caring individual who brought joy to everyone around her. A fundraiser has been set up to assist the family with funeral expenses as the community continues to mourn the loss of a beloved member.
